We provide fire engineering tools for the built environment

These tools can be used by the fire safety community to improve our built environment.  The software is designed for use by Fire Engineers.  It may also be used at no cost for approval organisations including Building Control, Approved Inspectors & Fire Brigades.

The software has been developed to provide flexible assessments of whole buildings or a review of a particular solution in one aspect of a fire engineered design.

The software includes smoke modelling, egress, tenability, thermal radiation analysis and risk assessment.

There are few limits to the complexity of the building to which this software can be applied, however for detailed calculation of hazards for fire scenarios beyond the scope of zone model assessment and simplified egress analysis, supporting models should be used such as CFD or discrete evacuation models.

FiRE

Quantified Fire Risk Assessment tool.

  • Heat Transfer: 2D Finite Element Analysis with dynamic mesh generation.
  • Tenability model (temperature, CO and thermal radiation).
  • Thermal Radiation Analysis including new functionality. Draw directly on to elevations, click panels in 3D, and undertakes dose related egress calculation.

FRA

Qualitative Fire Risk Assessment tool commensurate with the requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

  • Import images and add fire safety hazards directly to building plans.
  • Take photos and audio notes.
  • Create PDF Fire Risk Assessments and Action List.

eADB

Salisburyfire Ltd are building desktop tools to help design and specify fire safety requirements for buildings based on compliance with UK design guidance.

  • Design your building against Approved Document B

FiRE - Download & Install

The software is designed to provide a broad understanding of safety and financial risk associated with fires in buildings.
Many different scenarios can be assessed allowing comparison of various design options including most fire safety control measures such as sprinklers, smoke control, compartmentation, egress conditions etc.
The software assesses both smoke movement , based on a set of initial prescribed conditions and relationships detailed within BS 7974 Part 3, and egress conditions based on principles defined within the SFPE handbook.
The software includes:
  • 2 layer zone smoke model including natural & mechanical smoke ventilation. Multi-room connections.
  • Sprinkler activation times.
  • Heat Transfer: 2D Finite Element Analysis with dynamic mesh generation.
  • Heat Transfer: Parametric temperature-time analysis including Hp/A (with and without fire protection) heating regimes and time equivalence.
  • Egress Analysis including stairs, escalators and lifts.  Distributed pre-movement time, walking speeds and occupant sizes.
  • Tenability model (temperature, CO and thermal radiation).
  • Quantified Fire Risk Analysis including Monte Carlo sampling for user defined distributions (on most input parameters), user defined Event Trees and Fault Trees.
  • Fast Math Parser for user defined functions.
  • The software calculates the potential number of occupants affected by fire and smoke presenting Fn Curves and Cost Benefit option appraisal. Multiple trial designs can be evaluated and compared.
  • Thermal Radiation Analysis is also provided to analyse complex or simple thermal radiation problems normally associated with fire engineering design including fire spread between buildings and egress via evacuation routes.  It may also be used to verify configuration factors used within heat transfer calculations.
New functionality including drawing on to elevations, clicking panels in 3D and a dose related egress calculation for escape along an evacuation route.

    Fire Risk Assessment

The software provides a desktop tool for collating and documenting fire risk assessments.  If you have a laptop with a camera it may be used for inspections (or photos can be imported).  The software has the ability to record voice notes of hazards identified.
    The software includes:
  • Import CAD and image (PNG) of floor levels so hazards can be correctly located in relevant locations.
  • Photos and voice notes can be recorded for each hazard.
  • Risk can be evaluated in relation to the Fire Triangle, with mitigation measures provided to reduce risk.
  • The software allows actions to be collated to a type, i.e. fire doors or emergency lighting.  These can be exported to Microsoft Excel.
  • PDFs of the risk assessment can be published.
  • Note the software is not cloud based.  It opens and manages files in a similar way to Word or Excel documents.  You can add your company logo to the PDFs.
Rear facing camera recommended on Windows tablet devices, if you are using the application during surveys .

Software for fire safety design, under development. Please contact us if you are interested in using this software.

    License

    Annual Subscription License - £175.00

After 30 days you will be prompted to provide the license serial number the software provides you. Please email matt@salisburyfire.co.uk with your serial number.  An invoice will be issued, and a license key emailed on payment. [This can also be done at any time prior, see: Help|About|License]

The software will only be licensed on the PC which generated the serial number. Licenses are non-transferable.

Bulk purchase discounts are available, as follows. Please note licenses must be purchased at the same time to qualify for the discount.:
Licenses Discount (per unit) Discounted price (per unit) Total Sale Price
    1 0% £175 £175
    2 10% £158 £333
    3 20% £140 £473
    4 30% £123 £595
    5 40% £105 £700
    6 50% £88 £788
    7 60% £70 £858
    8 70% £53 £910
    9 80% £35 £945
    10 (max) 90% £18 £963

    Company licenses

A company license key and password is also available on request.  This provides a single license, which can be used on multiple PCs in the same organisation.  This is intended to simplify the licensing process, with the above costs still applied.  For example, a single organisation with 15 users would be £963 + £ 700 = £1663.   A single key and password combination will be issued.

    VAT

Supplies of digital services to UK consumers are liable to UK VAT (at the current rate) which will be applied to the above license costs.
